Beata Ewa Białecka, St. George, inkography on paper ed.6z30, 98 x 54 cm

Born 1966 in Mikołów, painter. She graduated from the Faculty of easel painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In 1992 she defended her diploma in the studio of Prof. Jerzy Nowosielski. Beata Ewa Bialecka is engaged in figurative painting, and takes up themes related to feminist issues. The artist paints women, whose poses refer to images known from the Renaissance and Baroque, while pointing out their role and position in contemporary society. In her work, she combines themes taken from Christian iconography with contemporary times. He analyzes different gender models, the male figure is deconstructed in favor of the female figure. He draws attention to the dependencies of women's functioning in the world of consumerism and presents an open attitude towards individual choices, even if they are contrary to tradition. By doing so, she achieves a new perspective of representation. Białecka is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships. In 2007 she was nominated for the Passport of Polityka in the Visual Arts category. Her works are in collections at home and abroad .
